February 6, 2004 - SEATTLE, FEBRUARY 6, 2004 — The Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey Club (www.seattlethunderbirds.com) are pleased to announce a partnership with Mike McCready, the lead guitarist for Seattle rock band Pearl Jam, that will benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. McCready will join the Thunderbirds for a very special Fan Appreciation night at KeyArena on March 6, 2004.
McCready, a world-renown guitarist, will play the U.S. national anthem on his guitar for the first time in public at the Thunderbirds home game which starts at 7:05 p.m. He will also be on hand to drop the game’s ceremonial puck.
“I’m incredibly touched by the Thunderbird’s support of CCFA -; this organization has been a lifesaver for me and for thousands of young people suffering from Crohn’s and Colitis around the country,” says McCready.
The Thunderbirds and CCFA have further teamed to develop a charitable donation that will benefit CCFA. A portion of the proceeds for each ticket purchased by March 5 that is designated as a part of the “friends, family or members of the CCFA group,” will be donated by the Thunderbirds to the CCFA.
“We are very excited to work with Mike and the CCFA,” said Seattle Thunderbirds General Manager Russ Farwell. “We look forward to developing a long-term partnership that raises interest and awareness.”
